What to do in a rain delay!

So it rained and rained and rained all day Sunday and Monday in Michigan.  I know there much have been nothing to do for all the NASCAR fans out there in the infield with their RV’s camping, but did the few immature people out there have to ruin the weekend for the rest of the fans?  What I’m referring to is the driving their cars/trucks around doing donuts in the mud spraying mud onto everyone else’s RV’s and campsites.  How rude,  have some consideration for your fellow NASCAR fans.

On a more positive note:  Did you happen to see how many fans showed up after, not one, but two days delay of the race, to watch the race on an early Tuesday morning?  What great fans most NASCAR fans are.  I know most of the fans stayed there during the entire weekend doing the tailgating party thing.  However, a lot of folks had to get back home to their jobs.    I am impressed by how many fans stayed and partied all weekend.  I think NASCAR fans are the best fans in the world!!!

Next time you’re partying NASCAR style why don’t you check out the Official NASCAR Party Decorations and Tailgating Supply Store.  There, you will find the Ultimate Party Blender and the Ultimate Tailgaters Grill which slides into your trailer hitch and rides on the outside of your vehicle just like a bike rack.   These are just a few items you will find on the website for your NASCAR party and Tailgating party.

See ya all at the next race this weekend in Bristol, Tennessee.  Pray there’s no rain on Saturday night.

Getting Ready for a Nascar Party

Well in just 2 weeks from tomorrow we will be heading out to California Speedway in Fontana, Ca. for a 4 day tailgate party in the Napa campground just outside the Speedway parking lot. There’s a lot of planning to be made when you’re going to have a 4 day party. You need to have the “coolest” camping setup in the lot. We party (camp) with our friends and set up a 2-space site. We put up the awnings and canopies and decorate the entire campsite with black and white checkered decorations. We have banners, streamers, giant signs, and the black and white checker board tiles laid down between the 2 RV’s. Of course we buy all our Nascar party decorations from The Official Nascar Party Decorations and Tailgating Supply store. The prices are great and they have everything you can think of to decorate your party with on their site. Now here’s the kicker!!! We got the Ultimate Party Blender from them. This is the most awesome blender you have ever seen. It is a gas powered 4-stroke 48oz stainless steel pitcher, on it’s own stand with telescopic legs. Now that’s a Party Blender if I’ve ever seen one. We also got the Tailgate Freedom Grill from them. This grill actually attaches to your towing hitch receiver and you travel with the grill on the back of your vehicle, just like a bike rack. You don’t have to make room for the grill in your vehicle or the bed of your truck, and you don’t have to worry about the grease getting on other things in the car. I’ll make sure I take lots of pictures of our camp site and post one or two here after the race weekend at Fontana. Hey, and if you’re in the area and see are camp site you can stop by and say hello. We’ll be the one’s with the “Official Nascar Member’s Club” flag flying high in the sky.

Q and A session with Kasey Kahne

Kasey KahneAugust 1, 2007 the driver of the #9 car, Kasey Kahne, was in California at the LAX airport Marriott Hotel for an exclusive Question & Answer session for California Speedway season ticket holders who renewed their 2008 season tickets by an early bird deadline. I was one of the lucky few who attended this session, I’m the one on the far right in the #9 jersey. I say there weren’t over 150 people in the room to ask Kasey questions and listen to his wonderful answers. I have to chuckle at one of his answers. A 13 year old girl asked him a great question, “If you worked on a pit crew, which crew member would you want to be”, he said he had never been asked that question before. He stumbled around for an answer, mentioned something about loving to change tires, thought that would be neat, then…… he finally came clean and said what he really wanted to do if he were to work on the pit crew. Kasey would love to be a Crew chief. I wonder how many of us NASCAR fans would love to work on a pit crew, or anywhere with Nascar as for that matter.

Well we got to have our pictures taken with Kasey Kahne. Group pictures were taken, but I managed to get a picture of me standing next to him talking to him. I was really trying to talk him into signing my #9 Holiday die cast car designed by Sam Bass and signed by Sam himself when we were in Charlotte, NC in May for the Official Nascar members Club convention, but his “handler” was not letting him sign anything. Oh well, maybe I will get a chance to meet Kasey and get his autograph in September at the race at California Speedway.

Speaking of the race at California Speedway, we plan on having a BBQ at our campsite on Saturday before the Busch race. I guess I have to start planning and getting all the decorations and paper goods for the BBQ, it’s only a few weeks away. If any of you out there are planning on going to the Labor Day weekend race why don’t you contact me and we may just meet at the track. We have a whole group of us that hang out together, we’re all part of the ONMC and we have a lot of fun together. Maybe we’ll see ya there!!
